The royal jewel expert said: "The horseshoe-shaped brooch features the name ‘Minoru’ spelt out in diamond letters, interspersed with round sapphires and rubies."
Its history dates back to the age of King Edward VII, who owned Minoru - one of the most successful Thoroughbred racehorses owned by the monarch.

The Court Jeweler explained that this became known as the "Maher Pin", and features sapphires and rubies to represent King Edward's racing colours.
The Queen also re-styled some of the finest pieces in her summer wardrobe for the occasion, including a powder blue suit jacket and floral dress. Staying true to her signature style, the dress featured a collared neckline, a-line skirt and knee-length hemline.
