STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 32-year-old man posing as a prospective customer stole an expensive diamond ring from Macy‘s in New Springville, authorities allege.

Stephen Cappas of Ronald Avenue in Graniteville was arrested 12 days after the high-end shoplifting that occurred on Sept. 15 just after 2:20 p.m. at the store located in the Staten Island Mall, according to the criminal complaint and police.
