WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested after allegedly removing her electronic monitoring ankle bracelet.
Tanya Marie Stephens, 39, Warsaw, is charged with escape, a level 6 felony.
On July 8, Stephens was sentenced to serve a three-year executed sentence in the Kosciusko County Jail. She was allowed to serve the executed portion of her sentence on electronic GPS monitoring with Kosciusko County Community Corrections.
According to court documents, on July 12, Stephens reviewed and signed her rules for KCCC monitoring and received an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet. Her estimated release date from electronic monitoring was Nov. 17, 2025.
On July 14, Stephens removed her monitoring device. A home detention officer found the device in a trash can in Warsaw.
Stephens was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 23.
