McDonald was taken to Surrey RCMP cells and will stay in custody until his next court date.

A second suspect, Joseph Gregory, is still on the lam.

Original story: The Surrey RCMP is looking for two men who removed their ankle bracelets and fled a halfway house last Thursday. The agency did not reveal why it only reported their absence today.

According to a police statement, Terry Rodney Jeffrey McDonald and Joseph Julian Gregory are facing firearms related offences and were released on bail on May 25.

Release conditions included that they wear an electronic ankle monitor and reside at a location in Surrey.

"The following day, Surrey RCMP received a report that both men had removed their ankle monitors and left their court-mandated residence. The Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit took conduct of the investigation and have been actively working to locate the men," the statement read.

McDonald, 25, is 5’6, and weighs 150 lb. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and grey Jordan tracksuit with black Jordan shoes.

Gregory, 26, is 6’2 and 221 lb. with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing an all black Jordan tracksuit with a gold coloured Jordan symbol.

Both men should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see them call 911 immediate and do not approach them. Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
